FBI, US tax authorities probe 2021 World Athletics Championships bid

THE controversial decision to award Eugene the 2021 world athletics championships is being investigated by the FBI and US tax authorities.
French financial prosecutors investigating alleged corruption at the IAAF were already looking at the circumstances that led to Lamine Diack, the former president of the scandal-hit governing body, awarding the Oregon city of Eugene the championships without a formal bidding process.
