By Herbert BOAKYE YIADOM, Accra
CAPTAIN of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan, has revealed that he retains fond memories of his former teammates Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingston and Sulley Muntari.

The all-time leading scorer for Ghana stated that it was magnificent playing alongside those players, as their style of play assisted him in scoring more goals for the senior national team.
“I really miss playing with these three players because they are people who have assisted in most of my goals for the national team.
“They always give you such a perfect pass and you simply cannot mess up but score.
On the current crop of players in the Black Stars group, Gyan said, “Kwadwo Asamoah is the one I miss most. I am have to speaking to him so he makes a return.
“He has been absent from the team due to his fitness and when I spoke to him last Tuesday, he said he will be making a return very soon. I also hope Baba Rahman recovers quickly so he joins the team”.
Gyan also touched on the new set-up of the technical team of the Black Stars which has two of his ex-team mates.
“I have a great relationship with Stephen Appiah and Richard Kingson because they were my former team mates. I have a lot of respect for them and glad to see them as part of the technical team of the Black Stars. They are young and will introduce new and modern techniques of football to the team”.
“I thank all my colleagues, especially with players that I started with from 2003 till now. I thank them all for helping me come so far in my career,” he added.
Gyan reached a landmark 50 goals in the national colours in 102 appearances and says he would like to play at the top level for a few more years.
