NBA Africa veep in Ghana to launch Junior NBA League

NBA Vice-President and Managing Director for Africa, Amadou Gallo Fall has arrived in the country to launch the Junior NBA League, according to

Amadou Gallo is in Ghana to familiarise himself with the rapidly growing sport, as well as acquaint himself with basketball activities in the country.
The Junior NBA basketball league, which is a breeding ground for talents, has deep roots in several parts of the world, including Africa, where countries like Senegal, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya have put into operation.
Matters to be discussed is the NBA Africa Academy, which forms part of major talking points in which the vice-president is expected to deliberate on with key stakeholders in the country during his visit.
Fall’s visit comes on the heels of an exhibition for the NBA Africa Academy, organised a few weeks ago involving young players from several parts of the country.
The NBA Africa Academy exhibition has increased interest in the sport and with the emergence of players from the country on the international front like former University of Connecticut Captain Amida Brimah has positioned Ghana as the next big talent destination on the African continent.
