10 Illegal miners granted bail

THE five Chinese and five Ghanaians illegal miners, who were arrested in March, this year, by the Western Regional Police Command, in the Bamianko corridor of Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region, have been granted bail by a Sekondi High Court.

DR Opoku Ware Ampomah, Director at the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, says burn cases reported to the facility has increased from 250 to 300 cases within a year, attributing the cause to the lack of adherence to health and safety practices by the mass Ghanaian population.
