Black Stars to depart for USA today

Will MPs ratify GITMO 2?

-Failure could strain Ghana-US relations

THE order by the Supreme Court that the agreement covering the hosting of two Guantanamo Bay (GITMO) detainees should be sent to parliament for retrospective approval immediately shifts the spotlight on this controversial matter to Members of Parliament (MPs).

VICE-PRESIDENT Mahamudu Bawumia has challenged the investor community to take advantage of Ghana’s competitive advantages, especially within the West Africa Sub-region, to make significant investments that would bring them appreciable returns.

THE Government has identified about 8,000 basic schools that need urgent refurbishment, and would need about $200 million to renovate dilapidated basic school structures across the country.

SOS for ambulance Service

THE Ministry of Health, as part of efforts to garner public support to resuscitate a deficient National Ambulance Service, has launched a new initiative aimed at encouraging corporate entities and the general public to contribute towards the project.

A TRADE fair slated for July 10-12, in Accra, would be held to introduce Sudanese and Ghanaian businesses and private corporations to tap into the huge business opportunities existing in the two countries.

THE Acting Executive Director of National Service Scheme (NSS), Mustapha Ussif, is optimistic of bumper harvest from its farms this year.
